REPORTS
District report
Congradulations are due.  Thankyou Debbie for having given to Guiding 20 (twenty) years of service.   Come on down to Novebver 12ths Presentaion, meet with the Region Leader who aims to present the award.

Membership is slowly increasing.  We need parent assistance here as your enthusiastic word of mouth comments are what other parents listen too and remember when their daughters ask to come to Guides. I hear that a few of the guides took their sashes (complete with badges) to school after the last Presentation.  For Show and tell .There are attendance restrictions (ie. Must be registered) but your encouragement for an initial visit really counts too.
Presentation evening had some interesting results.  Remember the leaders will only pin the sash badges to a sash.  Nothing else. This way loss is minimilsed.
Wearing of uniform is to be encouraged.  Nearly everyone has one.  Wear it.
There has been behaviour issues recently coming to a head.  However these have been monitored and are being dealt with.
The hall maintance report following has more information outline.  Progress may appear slow here but things are beginning to happen.  The aim is to have the current challengers met by the beginning of 2009
The annual planning for next year is under way.  All aspects of Guiding calendar and interests are taken into account when allocating program space, activities, overnight stays, finance and training.

NOTE: activities, events, service to the community, camp /overnight stays and other programmed happenings depend a lot on having help.  Basically the help requires having a Police Check through Guiding done, and a volunteer working with child card. Obtaining these does take weeks to go through the official system. Do you know of anyone who would fit these catergories and be interested in volunteering for Guiding???
